Raised in Poland’s sublime Masurian Lake District, London-based artist Millena DeMille spent the first 20 years of her career as an interior designer, integrating her art into her schemes. Her work, known for its use of 'non-colours' and occasional vivid blues or greens, explores semi-abstract themes of nature, memory and travel, often utilising silver, copper and gold leaf. "Grandeur," specially commissioned for The Lawrence, is a large-scale oil on canvas, and pays homage to celestial power, aligning with the room’s nautical theme honouring World War I Naval Officers.
