Indian-British artist Angeli Sowani was born in New Delhi and trained as an illustrator and graphic designer at the prestigious National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India. Her work draws on a multitude of influences from Western and Asian culture. “Women of the World Wars” features 55 portraits in memory of the women from across Europe, Australia, India, Africa, the Caribbean and Canada who served their countries, with many losing their lives. This work, first seen by the team at the Grosvenor Gallery in 2022, is a powerful reminder of their contribution to victory.
