Few London venues carry what The OWO does: a destination with its own centre of gravity. For over a century these walls held wartime cabinets, state decisions and the quiet founding of MI5 and MI6. Today, they hold state dinners, private celebrations, gala performances and the evenings that matter – each benefiting from a stage already written.
The Lawrence
Grand occasions deserve an arrival befitting the grandeur of The Lawrence. Guests arrive via the Grand Staircase and gather in The Lawrence, the 425-square-metre foyer that runs between staircase and ballroom.
The Whitehall Ballroom
The ballroom is one of London’s most commanding: 678 square metres, divisible by soundproofed walls into thirds, with rigging for West End-scale sound and lighting. Two car lifts allow a vehicle – a car at a launch, a set piece for a gala – to be driven into the room itself. Up to six hundred seated; four hundred for a full dinner-and-dance.
The Drawing Room
For smaller gatherings, The Drawing Room beckons with its own fireplace, a grand piano, a mahogany view onto the Household Cavalry – opens for private dinners and receptions by arrangement, reserved for occasions worthy of the room.
Pillar Kitchen
Menus written to a nutritionist's brief - cold-pressed juices and seasonal, vegetable-led plates that keep a full day's agenda sharp.

Named for the signals once tapped through these walls, two versatile rooms that divide and reconfigure as your agenda demands.
POPPY SUITE
Beneath a triple-height chandelier of red poppies, a tribute to those who served, the suite looks quietly onto the courtyard.
HERITAGE GALLERY
Original detail, softly lit, the length of the Heritage Gallery - a setting that lends any gathering the standing of the address.
By Invitation
Some rooms are held for other company. The Spy Bar, behind its unmarked door in the basement where MI5 and MI6 kept their strong room, opens for members of the hotel’s circle – a drinks reception before a dinner, an after-party for a private launch. Further spaces can be arranged through the events team when the occasion merits.
